Parent Volunteer Requirement Agreement

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

This swim team is a parent-run organization which requires each immediate family to contribute to the effort. The swim meet volunteer point total is determined after we receive our schedule in April. "Immediate family" is defined as the swimmers' siblings and parents. Any siblings 16+ may volunteer for the immediate family’s requirement; these siblings may not be active Torpedo swimmers. Multiple family homes (multiple sets of siblings with multiple sets of parents) will be counted as multiple family entities for volunteer purposes.

  • Each immediate family must gain the required swim meet volunteer points.
  • In addition to swim meets, expect to volunteer at Time Trials, Meet of Champions, & special events (Kick-of Party, etc.).
  • If your child makes All-Stars, you will be required to volunteer at this meet.
  • No-shows or uncoordinated late-shows for volunteer jobs will result in a $60 fine and subtraction of those volunteer points from your total.
  • You will receive advance notification via email of the date and time volunteer sign-up opens.
  • VOLUNTEER DEPOSIT & NEXT YEAR REGISTRATION

A single $350 volunteer guarantee will be pre-approved as a hold on your credit card during registration. Each family that meets their volunteer obligations will have this hold released, minus any late- show or no-show infraction fees. Your credit card hold will be retained for payment after the season if your immediate family does not satisfy the volunteer requirements.

Any family which fails to sign up for and complete their required volunteer shifts may have their swimmers restricted from activities in the current season, including practices and meets. Additionally, families who do not complete their volunteer requirement will be restricted from returning next season.

I have read this section and agree to satisfy the volunteer requirement for swim meets, special events, Meet of Champions, and All-Stars. I agree to sign up for volunteer jobs by the published deadline, show up on time, and complete each volunteer shift.

Torpedoes Swim Team's Code of Conduct

NEW TERRITORY TORPEDOES SWIM TEAM’S CODE OF CONDUCT

Swimming on the New Territory Torpedoes Swim Team can be great fun for everybody. However, we must remember that with so many swimmers and only a few supervising adults and coaches, everyone must cooperate. This CODE OF CONDUCT exists to maintain order and above all, safety, at all practices and swim meets. Parents should review the code with their swimmer together and discuss its points to ensure that each swimmer is aware of his/her responsibilities - and the consequences of not following any point of the code (see #10 below).

    1. Swimmers are to be respectful and obedient to those in authority. This includes coaches, marshals, and other parent helpers at the swim practices and meets.

    2. Foul, abusive, or otherwise unseemly language will not be tolerated.

    3. All pool safety rules shall be followed during and after practices.

    4. Swimmers shall never enter the pool until instructed to do so by the coaches.

    5. Unruly behavior such as pushing, fighting, running, or dunking shall not be tolerated.

    6. Swimmers will provide their full attention to coaches at all times.

    7. Each swimmer/parent will be financially responsible for damages to any pool or swim team equipment at the practice or meet facilities.

    8. Do not walk on top of the walls at the Club pool. We have had injuries due to children balancing and walking along the narrow edge of the wall.

    9. During swim meets and practices, all participants and spectators shall not go within two feet of the “baby pool”.

    10. Swimmers not able to follow the Code of Conduct will be disciplined. Disciplinary action shall be at the discretion of the coaches or the swim team board, and may include suspension from practices, meets, or from all swim activities for the remainder of the season with no refund of fees.

    Swimmer Skill Requirements

I acknowledge that the Head Coach, in concurrence with the Board of Directors, may determine that my child cannot swim for this season based on adequate skill and maturity levels. This decision will be based upon the following criteria:

    1) Child must be full potty trained.

    2) Child must not be afraid to enter the water unassisted.

    3) Child must be able to follow directions.

    4) Child must be able to swim across the 25-yd pool.

If your swimmer is not able to meet these requirements by Time Trials, your registration fee will be partially refunded minus $70 (insurance, league dues, & processing fees).

New Territory Residential Community Association, Inc. Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19

New Territory Residential Community Association, Inc.

Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19

The coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic and is believed to be spread mainly through person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments, as well as federal and state health agencies, recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, limited or prohibited the congregation of groups of people. New Territory Residential Community Association, Inc. (“NTRCA”) has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, NTRCA cannot guarantee that you or your participants will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, visiting NTRCA’s common areas such as the community pools and other facilities (collectively, the “Common Areas”) could increase your risk and your child(ren)’s risk of contracting COVID-19. By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by visiting the Common Areas and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the Common Areas may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, NTRCA’s employees, agents, contractors, vendors, volunteers, and other visitors and their families. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my or my child(ren)’s presence at the Common Areas and facilities, or participation in any programming at NTRCA’s facilities (“Claims”). In addition, I also agree that I will not knowingly allow me, my family, or my invitees to go the NTRCA’s Common Areas if we are sick, have a fever, suspect we have COVID-19, or know we have been exposed to COVID 19. On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless NTRCA, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of NTRCA, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after visiting the Common Areas or participation in any Association activities.
