Urgent! MOC New Revised Swimmer Events, MOC Details, FAQs

Hi MOC Torpedoes,

Exciting news! We've made some updates to todays events for the Meet of Champions. Several swimmers have been added or had additional events included in their schedule. You can find the updated swimmer events attached, which match the sheets Erin posted in SportsYou. These are the final MOC program details as of 8:08 PM on June 26th.

Below, I've included some FAQs that address common queries. Please take a moment to review them.

For any further questions, feel free to text me at 832-633-0880. I'll be at the meet bright and early at 6 AM. Once the 10 & Under meet begins, I'll be focused on running the Colorado timer system and won't be available.

Looking forward to a fantastic Meet of Champions!

POST SEASON VOLUNTEERING:

If your athlete is competing in the MOC on Thursday, it is mandatory that you volunteer. This volunteer commitment does not count toward your required points for the regular swim season. Everyone attending MOC is expected to volunteer to help us run the meet smoothly, even though we require fewer volunteers for this "post-season" event. :) Once you arrive for your volunteer position please check in with Steve.

MOC FAQ

1. Will there be concessions? Unfortunately not. No food or snack will be served. You will need to bring your own drinks, snack, and food.

2. Will there be an MOC T-Shirt? No, the league will not be selling MOC T-Shirts. However, They will be selling All Star T-Shirts.

3. Will I be able to see my other swimmers if I am a Tent Parent? Remember swimmers who qualified for an event will swim that designated event in MOC and the ready bench helps the kids to their lanes so the answer is YES. Once you turn your swimmers in to ready benches, age marshals can wait inside until the kids are done and back in tents. There will be no awards directly after the event. Any earned medals or ribbons will be picked up later on.

4. What is the set up like? Plan to bring your usual meet stuff (cooler, chairs, drinks, snacks, food, and sunscreen, etc...). There is bleacher seating but it is limited and we encourage folks to use it only to watch their swimmers, then move to allow other parents the chance to watch.

5. Can I go with my swimmer to help them? No - there are NO parents on deck at all except those working in the meet. Coaches and volunteers manage all the kids once they are on the pool deck. (This is when it’s awesome to be a volunteer! You get to be in the action.)

I think that was most of the questions...if there are more, please reach out to me or another board member. You can text me at 832-633-0880. I will plan on being at MOC all day for both sessions. Once the 10 & Under Meet starts I will not be available to answer questions.

Best of luck to all our swimmers tomorrow!

Best regards,

Kimberly Johnson
